01Who we are

This website is run by Kothari Cabletronics, a proprietorship (GSTIN 33ADMPM1269J1ZC) with its head office at 15, Meeran Sahib Street, Near Casino Theatre, Chennai - 600 002, Tamil Nadu, India. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through kotharicabletronics.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.

02What we collect

Details you give us. When you send an enquiry or request a quote, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and company name, together with your message and any products or categories you select. If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever details you share in that conversation.

Technical data. When you submit a form, we use your IP address to limit repeated submissions and block spam. If the security check is enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical signals from your browser to confirm you are not a bot. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs that include IP addresses.

Usage data. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors. With your permission only, we may also use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (see Cookies and analytics).

We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, sensitive data such as bank details, identity document numbers or passwords through this website.

03How we use your data

We use your personal data only to:

  • respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes and follow up on your request;
  • send you an email confirming that we received your enquiry;
  • process and deliver orders, and issue invoices, if you become a customer;
  • protect the website from spam, abuse and security threats;
  • understand and improve how the website is used, where you have allowed analytics; and
  • meet our obligations under tax, accounting and other applicable laws.

You provide enquiry details voluntarily for the purpose of getting a response, which the DPDP Act treats as a legitimate use. We rely on your consent for optional analytics. We do not sell your personal data, and we will not add you to marketing lists without asking you first.

04Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions:

  • Vercel for website hosting, server logs and cookie-free page analytics;
  • Prisma Data for database hosting, where enquiries are stored;
  • Resend for delivering enquiry notifications and confirmation emails;
  • Cloudflare for the Turnstile spam check on our forms; and
  • Google for map embeds on our contact page and, only with your consent, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics.

Some of these providers may store or process data on servers outside India. We only use providers that apply appropriate security measures, and we do not transfer data to any country restricted by the Government of India. We may also disclose data where required by law or by a court or government authority.

05How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and quote requests are deleted automatically 24 months after we receive them, or sooner if you ask us to delete them.
  • Customer records such as invoices and order details are kept for as long as GST, income tax and other laws require.
  • Emails exchanged with our team are kept in our mailboxes only while needed to serve you, and deleted when no longer required.
  • Server logs are kept by our hosting provider only for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

06How we protect it

All traffic to the website is encrypted with HTTPS. Enquiries are stored in an access-controlled database that only authorised staff can reach through a password-protected admin panel, and admin actions are logged. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform the Data Protection Board of India and the people affected, as the DPDP Act and its Rules require.

07Cookies and analytics

Visitors browsing this site do not receive any cookies from us by default. Your cookie choice is saved in your own browser so that we do not ask again. The Google Maps embeds on our contact page are provided by Google, which may set its own cookies when they load.

Google Tag Manager and any analytics tags inside it load only if you select “Allow analytics”. Advertising storage stays switched off. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, and withdrawing removes the analytics cookies from your browser.

08Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

  • get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we have used it;
  • have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected, completed or updated;
  • have your data erased when it is no longer needed for the purpose you gave it for, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  • withdraw consent you have given, as easily as you gave it;
  • have your grievances addressed by us; and
  • nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

To use any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer below. We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by writing from the email address you used in your enquiry. We will respond as quickly as we can, and in any case within 90 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

09Children

This website is meant for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their details, please contact us and we will delete them.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will ask for your consent again where required.
